Terms

Cross-docking
Coordinated transfer of cargo between containers, transport vehicles or approved handling stages with limited intermediate storage. Harmis Global supports cross-docking based on confirmed requirements.
Stuffing
Loading cargo into a container in an organised sequence. Stuffing support depends on cargo details, access, equipment and labour confirmed for the enquiry.
Unstuffing
Removing cargo from a container. Unstuffing support is planned around packaging, weight, working space and confirmed handling needs.
Haulage
Movement of cargo or containers by road transport based on a confirmed requirement. Haulage support remains subject to availability.
Container yard
Space used for placing or staging containers. Container yard rental support may be discussed where suitable space can be confirmed.
Material yard
Space used for materials related to handling or staging activities. Material yard rental support is confirmed per enquiry and subject to availability.
Pallet
A platform used to unitise cargo for handling and movement. Wooden pallet sales and supply may be discussed as a verified related service.
Crane
Lifting equipment used for approved lifting tasks. Crane rental support may be arranged subject to availability and confirmed operational requirements.
Forklift
Equipment used to lift and move palletised or suitable loads during material handling. Forklift rental support is confirmed per enquiry.
Rigger
A trained worker who supports lifting and load-securing tasks during approved handling operations. Trained rigger supply may be arranged subject to availability.
Gross weight
The total weight of cargo plus packaging and, where relevant, the container. Gross weight details help review handling and equipment needs.
Tare weight
The empty weight of a container or vehicle without cargo. Tare weight helps calculate payload when planning container-related work.
Payload
The usable cargo weight that can be carried after accounting for tare weight and applicable limits. Accurate payload information supports safer planning.
Working radius
The horizontal distance from a crane’s centre to the load position. Working radius is an important technical detail for crane rental enquiries.
Lift height
The vertical height required to raise a load during a lifting task. Lift height helps assess whether requested equipment support can be confirmed.
Site access
The practical ability for people, vehicles or equipment to enter and work at a location. Access constraints affect what handling support can be confirmed.
Container rental
Arranging a container for temporary use based on confirmed type, size and availability. Owned inventory is not assumed.
Cargo handling
